Portfolio

Cooking was fun. In stretch your wallet we cook once a week, everytime we make something new.

In stretch your wallet we got given the chance to earn 3 credits. I decided to go ahead and do it.

Also in that class we learn about money management which I think is intersting. Workspace

Might be doing unit stanard soon. We did the unit standard, i'm not sure how it went it.

In Adrenaline we dissected a chicken leg. We dissected a sheep heart.

We also learn about the human body/biology which I am especially interested in. Workspace

So far we've only surfed in that class but hopefully we get to do something else fun like that.

This week we got to surf.We got to kayak. We got to Mountain Bike. We will be doing our adventure race on tuesday. We did the adventure race. My group was last to start, however we ended up passing two groups near the end.

Making a difference: we're going through rotations between the teachers doing different things.

Workspace

We've stopped doing the rotations and we are now doing level 6 work on either a social justice or human rights issue. Mine is about racism. I've just finished my racism thing. Here is a poster a I made for it.

In build your own we're making a shelf with Mr Spring who is really cool, so far I would say it's going pretty well. Workspace

We're about to start connecting the pieces. We've started connecting the pieces and it seems to be going pretty well, we just need more time. We have fully pieced together two of them we just need to make the third than we can add the bases and we're done.

In literacy we are learning about English. Workspace

In numeracy we are learning year 9 & 10 algebra. Workspace

Water Scaresity:

1. 785 million people lack access to clean water

2. People in Africa walk a very long amount to just get water to drink

3. Mexico has a very lack amount of water

4. This affect famrers greatly

5. We will die without water

Done Well: Class work. At some point within this term I have done some class work.

Challenging: Class work. At some point during this term I have been challenged.

In Into The Unkown we are just about to start project awesome. We will get right into it after term holidays.

My Website.

In Seek we are just going through rotations. Workspace.

In rocket design we are creating stomp rockets and launching them next term. Site Workspace.

A highlight was doing sports in my impact project. It was a highloght because it was fun. Nothing really didn't work out but I was a bit behind in some work that we've gad.

PREP Final Week Reflection

Today we packaged our products in sets of 2 and 4, we also set up our table and made the advertising. I feel our team has worked well together throughout the whole thing. We had no difficulties or challenges. The teacher has told us where to get stuff we needed and helped in a lot of other ways as well.
Our stall before being set up.

PREP Week 9 Reflection

Today we created our poster for advertising. I do feel our team has worked well together because creating the coasters was really smooth and efficient, same with everything else.Other than making the prototype which wasn't that confusing we had no challenges. Our teacher has helped us by telling us what to do when we get stuck. We need to bring the posters to put on our table and our product.

PREP Reflection Week 8

Today my group and I wasted almost 2 blocks trying to get the laser cutter to work for us, in the end we just gave up since it wasn't working out. The rest of the time we used to make a poster which we didn't get to finish. I think I didn't use my time very well since I did almost nothing for 2 blocks. I didn't achieve anything today but if I had too choose it would probably be the poster since it's the only work I did today. Kobe and his group are making chopping boards. To make sure i'll be on task next week I should find something to do so I won't get distracted like today.

PREP Reflection Week 7

Today we made a few more coasters and varnished all of them. I think I used my time well, we got pretty far. My biggest achievement today was being able to varnish all of the coasters. Joe Singh and his group are crating candle holder made out of driftwood that can hold the amount of 3 - 7. I think i'm all ready anad set for next week.

PREP Week 5 Reflection

Something that went well was that we were able to make so many coasters. Nothing really went wrong I would say it went well. I think I used my time well, the biggest achievement today would probably be that we were able to make so many coasters. I think Joe's product is cool. Next time we will add varnish put the designs on it and maybe add something else.

PREP Week 5 Planning

Today we got a lte start. In block 2 Jamie and I will continue to make more of our product, well Izan will work on how we package our product since he brought some stuff that could be good.

PREP Week 4 Reflection

This is our finished prototype. I expected it to be tricky but it wasn't. I already knew how to use the sander and that's all we needed to do so that's why it was so easy. For next week Izan said he would bring the varnish and maybe a packaging to make it look nice.

PREP Prototypes

These are the prototypes Jamie and I created with the off-cuts of wood Izan got. The one on the top left was what we started off with, a piece of wood that was already cut into a square. The top right is the same thing but with the sides sanded. Bottom left is all of it sanded and the bottom right is the final prototype with it completely sanded and level, the edges were quite the sight aswell.

PREP Week 4 Planning

We have our wood now and it's sitting in the office so we can use it whenever we want.

After we get into the woodwork room we will create a prototype of our product so we can see how it turns out. For our actual product, we might add some carpet to the bottom of the coasters so the wood doesn't scratch the surface on which it's being used on.

To get this carpet Izan and his mum will go to the carpenter and grab whatever offcuts we can use. We will glue the carpet to the bottom of the coasters.

If we aren't happy with how our prototype turns out we will keep making them until we are.

Week 3 PREP Reflection

Something that went well was we able to finish all the preparation (which was our prep proposal & the recourses) we needed to do for our product but I think could have done it faster if we didn't mess around as much so I will work on that next time. Nothing was very tricky for our group since everything we did was something we already knew how to do what we were doing. Next week for PREP our group needs to get wood so we can start working on the actual product.

Week 2 of PREP Reflection

  1. What went well today for you and your team?  Think about your teamwork, and your group’s product idea.

We got all of our work that was assingned done. The teamwork was good, I think the product idea is good.

  1. What was difficult?  Why do you think that was?

Nothing was hard in my opinion.

3. What do you need to work on in preparation for the PREP lessons next week?

Nothing, I think we are all set for after the holidays.

About our product

For now we're still planning our product, it's going well so far we've already planned one place we could possibly get the wood from. For the christmas theme we've planned to laser cut some christmas designs onto the coasters. In my group is Jamie and Izan, our group name is Big KEK.

This is our logo

It has santa to represent christmas and our group name.

Week 1

One thing that went well today would be that we got all the work that was supposed to be finished today done and started on the next thing, the teamwork was good we all worked together nicely and our product idea is turning out well. Something that was difficult was focusing when we have all this freedom we tend to start talking. There was nothing new I learnt about business but we were taught about was trying to find out what would be the best people to sell to, how to intrigue them to buy it and make sure to make an example of it. For next week I can try to stay more focused and on task, and sort out what would be the best type of material for our product.

Non Stop Cricket Reflection

1. What safety management strategies did you use when paying non-stop cricket?
If I knew I wouldn't be able to catch the ball when it was coming towards me would just move out of the way,and we also moved to the front of the school because it was too hot at the back of the school.
2. Explain what a risk is and give three examples of risks from non-stop cricket (Try and give one from each category).
You can take a risk and taking a risk is when you know something bad could happen to you but you do it anyway,
1. sunburnt,
2.getting hit by the ball
3.not looking where we are going
3. It was very hot during non-stop cricket the other day, how did you keep yourself safe during the hot weather? What more could you have done?
We batted under the shade instead, I could have put on sunscreen I also could have worn the school cap and glasses if we were a loud to wear them.
